You already know the situation. Here it is in black and white.

Many business owners no longer say out loud what they have been thinking for a long time. The numbers now say it for them.

32.58 ct
Electricity per kWh for smaller operations

That is what companies with lower consumption paid in the second half of 2025, a good 28 percent more than in 2021. Industrial electricity in the EU costs around twice the US level.

EUR 146 bn
Cost of bureaucracy per year

The ifo Institute puts the economic output lost to bureaucracy each year at up to this amount. Capacity that should be generating revenue goes into reporting obligations instead.

+0.2 %
Growth of the German economy in 2025

After two years of recession. German online retail of goods grew by a meager 1.1 percent in 2024, and 24,064 corporate insolvencies mark the highest level since 2014.

The problem is not your product. The problem is that your only market has become the hardest one.

02

The home market is the smallest market

The best German brands have been proving it for decades: the revenue is abroad. Share of international revenue in total revenue:

StihlPower equipment, family owned90.4 %
KärcherCleaning equipment, family owned86 %
RavensburgerGames and puzzles, almost 40 % North America70 %

And the Mittelstand? According to KfW, only 23.1 percent are active internationally. Those that are generate 27 percent of their revenue abroad on average.

The 2026 tariff window: your head start on China

5 to 50 %
import tariffs in Mexico since 1 January 2026, with no expiry date, for countries without a free trade agreement
1,463
affected tariff lines, among them kitchen, household and consumer goods
EU: exempt
under the EU-Mexico Agreement. The modernised agreement was signed on 22 May 2026 and widens preferential access further.

Since 1 January 2026, Mexico has charged import tariffs of 5 to 50 percent on 1,463 tariff lines from countries without a free trade agreement: China, South Korea, India.

The EU is exempt under the EU-Mexico Agreement. A German product therefore lands at the Mexican border cheaper than its Chinese competitor, at higher quality. That is not a forecast. That is customs law in force.

The tariffs have no expiry date. But shelf space and importers are being allocated right now. Whoever distributes first takes the shelf and the importer.

+20 % e-commerce

One market entry. Two markets.

We do not just open up Mexico for you. With our own warehouses on both sides of the border, your export setup serves Mexico and the USA at the same time, with contacts reaching into South America.

Warehouse León, central Mexico

The base for Mexico and Latin America

Your goods sit where distributors and retail chains call them off. Add to that long-standing contacts across Latin America, from Mexico City to Buenos Aires.

Warehouse Nevada, USA

US fulfillment from inside the country

Your goods clear customs once in bulk and then ship domestically: to retail, end customers and Amazon.com. No customs handling per order, at domestic shipping speed.

No. 1

Mexico is the largest trading partner of the USA: USD 404.6 billion in goods trade from January to May 2026 alone, 16.5 percent of all US goods trade.

15 %

Uniform US tariff cap on most EU goods since 1 July 2026, with no further surcharges. Your US landed costs are calculable to the cent before you start.

2 markets

One setup, one point of contact, both countries supplied. We handle proof of origin, import and tariff calculation for Mexico and the USA.

05

What we take on: everything, from validation to signature

Not an agency, not a consultancy, not a lead vendor. A market entry partner who closes the deal and gets the goods into the country.

1

Market validation with real data

Targeted Meta campaigns test demand for your specific product in the target market before a single euro goes into distribution. Plus the physical product test on the ground.

2

Partner search through our network

Distributor relationships grown since 2009, backed by targeted campaigns. We do not search at random. We approach the right houses.

3

Qualification, negotiation, signed contract

Led in person and on the ground, until the signature is on paper.

4

Incoterms, EXW, customs and import

We handle the execution, not just the advice about it.

5

Packaging localisation

As a marketing adaptation, not a product change.

6

Warehousing and logistics

Logistics warehouses in León (central Mexico) and in Nevada (USA). Fulfillment for Mexico and the USA from one source.

An agency hands over leads. We hand over a signature.

The physical test

Before a distributor orders, we test your product physically in the target market context. Example: Mexican limes instead of German lemons. Found before the first order, not after it. A detail like that decides whether the first shipment becomes a success or a complaint.

Why Exportkontor

Roman Lewcke. Twelve years building his own distribution in Mexico, Latin America and the USA.

With a product of his own (nanocoating) he built distribution in exactly these markets, from the first order to the retail shelf. Not as a consultant, but as a manufacturer with his own capital and his own risk. He knows every step ahead of you from his own experience.

Trained as an Industriekaufmann (industrial business apprenticeship) at Siemens in Mexico, certified by CAMEXA (the German-Mexican Chamber of Industry and Commerce)
Distributor relationships grown since 2009, with access up to retail chains
Developed his own product and sold it in Mexico, Latin America and the USA
Built distribution with his own capital and his own risk, not on a drawing board

The partners behind Exportkontor

In international distribution, trust decides. So you get to see who you are working with, and who is responsible for your goods on the ground.

The comparison: your alternatives, honestly costed

Route Cost What you get and what is missing
Hire an international export or sales director EUR 70,000 to 95,000 gross, approx. EUR 8,000 to 10,000 per month fully loaded No market validation, no Meta, no network, no warehouse. Plus the employment protection risk.
German export consultancy EUR 1,000 to 2,000 per day, projects EUR 20,000 to 50,000 A study and a strategy. No partner search, no close.
Meta performance agency EUR 2,000 to 5,000 per month Leads. After that you are on your own.
Exportkontor EUR 6,500 per month, cancel monthly after 3 months, plus a one-time success fee at contract signature All three together, plus the close, customs, import and warehouses in León and Nevada.
08

Investment

Mandate
EUR 6,500 / month

Everything included: validation test in the target market, market analysis, active partner search, qualification, negotiation, customs and import setup. 3-month minimum, cancel monthly after that.

Success fee
15 % of the first-year minimum, one time

Due when the distribution contract is signed. The bigger the contract we negotiate for you, the bigger our fee. Not a percentage of your ongoing revenue.

The math

Your entry: EUR 19,500 for three months of mandate, after that you decide month by month. Success fee example: a EUR 70,000 first-year minimum purchase volume in the contract means a EUR 10,500 fee, once, at signature. Your own export sales director costs you EUR 8,000 to 10,000 per month, permanently, plus employment protection.

Warehousing and fulfillment in León and Nevada is billed by our local partner at cost, per pallet and per shipment. Only once your goods arrive.

We earn at the close, not on the clock.

09

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to change my product?

No. Localisation is almost always packaging and language. If a physical adaptation is needed after all, you will know before the first order, through our physical test in the target market.

How long am I under contract?

Three-month minimum, then cancel monthly. A market entry realistically takes six to nine months, sometimes longer. We do not sell a package with an artificial end date: you pay while we work for you, and you leave whenever you want.

How does the success fee work?

15 percent of the first-year minimum purchase volume written into your distribution contract. Once, due at signature. The bigger the volume we negotiate for you, the bigger our fee: in that negotiation we sit on your side of the table. We take nothing from your ongoing revenue.

Which markets first?

Phase 1 is always Mexico. That is where our own warehouse in León sits, along with our local partner's network. From that central hub we open up the USA and Latin America in the next steps, where we have contacts reaching into South America.

What if no partner signs?

We make no guarantees, and you should not believe anyone who does. Instead we qualify hard before the setup starts. That is why we do not take on every product.

Why a US company?

For you, the fee is a fully deductible business expense. There are no employer social security contributions, no German employment law, full flexibility. You are buying a result, not an employee.
